Umbel started in 2021 when we ran out of patience with twelve-step routines. We kept the four things our skin actually needed, then added a balm and a bar of soap. That was the whole plan.

How we work
Three rules we
haven’t broken yet.
I.
Fewer products
If two formulas do the same job, one of them goes. Six is the number we can make well.
II.
Plain labels
Every ingredient is listed in full with its common name beside it, in type you can read.
III.
Slow batches
We pour, label and date every bottle by hand. When a batch runs out, we make the next one.

Where do you ship?
Across the US and Canada. Orders leave our workshop within two working days and arrive in three to six.
Can I return something?
Yes. Send back anything unopened within 30 days and we refund it in full, shipping included.
How long does a bottle last?
Oils keep 12 months from the date on the base, water-based formulas 9. Most people finish a bottle in about ten weeks.
Do you sell refills?
Not yet. Rinse the glass and send it back with your next order and we take $3 off.
